Albany Times Union Bloggers Encourage Blogging to Showcase What Your Work

Will Brunelle writing on TECH BLOG tells us: A blog is a place for you to showcase yourself, and make it clear to employers that you’re ready to not only work for them in an office, you’re ready to, and able to, embrace the brand online as well, and work with them to use emerging technologies to promote their name and merchandise or services. It’s critical, today, to show that you can do more than use Microsoft Office, or your industry-specific suite of programs. You absolutely must be able to also work online, with emerging services and technologies, to fully harness their potential and make the most of what they have to offer. I thought the IBM Smart Planet Campaign wants to tell us something about how we work. And I mentioned it only because we can easily get lost online or at career fairs gathering information about companies and making connections with individuals who can't get us to a job interview. The IBM smarter planet essays talk about "How to compete in an era of smart is that employer's are shifting away from hiring people who gather knowledge to hiring people who communicate it." So work on content and communication.
