OUR KITTEN KEATS became FUJI (the stray cat)

Our Kitten Keats must have strayed some from home, actually she was a very friendly cat and loved 

people. This story is in past tense since we have not seen Kitten Keats since September 7, 2025.

Here is a picture of Kitten Keats with her brother Jethro. Both cats are tabby's, and I am very fond of

I knew Kitten Keats either had an accident, was shot at by a BB gun, a taser or was attacked by a swarm 

of bees or re-inherited her original flea infection.  Bruno my roommate brought her home when she was 

small, barely weaned.  She was infested with fleas as a new born, since mom was probably not that 

well  taken care of by her owners.  I had to keep Kitten Keats contained in the bathroom. I spent time 

combing the fleas out but prior to getting to that task, I gave her a bath.  As she got older she put her 

paw down and scratched the heck out of me when I tried to rinse the soap off in the tub.

Keat's was  Bruno's favorite cat. He adored her and he gave her special attention above the other three 

cats we had at home.  

friend used to come in through the kitchen window.  The last time I saw her, I noticed she was injured on her

 shoulder. It was a big wound, it looked as if someone shot her with a B-B gun.  I took off her flea collar

 and was ready to examine her injury.  I turned my back and she jumped on the kitchen counter and

 stood in the window. She looked at me with sad eyes. We connected and it was as if she was saying 

goodbye.  I could not reach her in time she jumped out the window and then was gone. 

It took some doing, but I actually found out that she was brought to the emergency room by a someone 

the veterinary hospital called a samaritin.  The samaritin took FUJI with them after a short stay in the 

veterinary hospital.

Fortuantely I asked around and someone I connected with knew a friend who had recently picked up a 

cat.  Oh lucky me I was contacted by the "samaritin" by text message. So I knew Kitten Keats was 

safe, or atleast she was with someone who cared for her.

a call by a lawyer / mediator about pet ownership.  So I have to negotiate whether we can have our pet

 back home with a legal professional.

KITTEN KEAT'S - MY MEDICAL REPORT

 

September 7, 2025    Between 8-9 pm Kitten Keats was admitted in the ER.

September 18, 2025  Kitten Keats last health status was recorded on her Medical Record.

Kitten Keats was hospitalized for 11 days.

It appears Kitten Keats had a gash on her neck. 

MM Attitude 

• MM stands for Mucous Membranes.
• Pink BAR indicates that the mucous membranes were a healthy pink color and the cat was Bright, Alert, and Responsive. 
• BAR stands for Bright, Alert, and Responsive. 
• QAR: Quiet, Alert, and Responsive.
• Normal CRT: The color should return in 1 to 2 seconds. 
• A normal body temperature for a cat is between 99°F and 102.5°F
• BCS stands for Body Condition Score   a score of 5/9 is ideal

It looked really serious to me, so I ran on it and put a poster on Petco Love Lost right one day after Kitten Keats left through the kitchen window.

And a gash on Kitten Keat's neck was the reported problem she had.  That is above and beyond potential bee attack or flea infestation.  Of course it came into my mind she was shot at, and the KABOB ZONE on College Ave, the manager had a threatening statement when I had inquired about her were abouts.  

His statement directed at me, was to call the police on this Kitten and have them use a tasor. Since the business is owned by Turkish immigrants, there may be a communication barrier.  But that statement seemed direct and to the point. If that action was taken - it would injure her. My inital thoughts about how she was injured - from a BB shot was not unfounded.
